ECUC Final Conference will take place on 27 August 2015 in Vienna
The ECUC team invites you to register to the project’s Final Conference ‘’Paving the way to higher compatibility of Eddy Current Brake in Europe’’ which will take place on 27 August 2015 at the Marriott Hotel in Vienna.
The ECUC project – Eddy CUrrent Brake Compatibility – is a three year collaborative R&D project co-funded by the EC which aims at proving that ECB is a highly effective and applicable solution for increasing the braking capacity of new high-speed trains. ECUC proposed new designs and engineering and operational guidelines for ECB and signalling equipment, as well as Technical Recommendations for the correct interoperable functioning of the ECB in a complex railway system.
Come and find out about the results of ECUC while networking with stakeholders from the whole rail community!
Participation is free of charge and participants are requested to register here before 17 July 2015.
Highlights of the event:
- Measured ECB emissions by trackside and current regulation
- Interactions with axle counters
- Temperature increase in rail due to ECB brake forces
- Design and test of ECBs towards new standardization
- 3D computer modelling to anticipate worst cases in EMC and rail temperature
- Project recommendations about future ECB development
- Visit to ECB Knorr-Bremse facility in Mödling
The afternoon session of the Conference will be dedicated to a technical visit in the Knorr-Bremse facility in Mödling where Eddy-Current Brakes are designed and produced.
The Knorr-Bremse Group, based in Munich, Germany, is the world’s leading manufacturer of braking systems for rail and commercial vehicles, and is present in Austria since 1930.
In the course of the visit through Knorr Bremse facility you will see the “Test site” and “Manufacturing”, visualizing its project.
ECUC has organized a bus to and from Mödling which will leave the Marriott Hotel just after lunch at 14:00 and will return at 16:30.
After the production tour, Knorr Bremse invites all participants for a typical Austrian dinner at the Heurigen Spätrot / Bruckberger www.heuriger-spaetrot.com (Wienerstraße 1, 2352 Gumpoldskirchen). The dinner will be served from 17:00 o’clock and the restaurant lies only 10 Minutes from Knorr Bremse facility. A shuttle bus will run to bring participants to the restaurant and back to the center of Vienna at around 20:00.
Looking forward to meeting you all in Vienna!
